When selling products online – your photos can make the difference between a sale and a polite pass. I’ll be teaching you some tips and tips for taking attractive product photos that help you sell your work. You will learn about composition, lighting, and how to use your smart phone camera to its fullest potential. We will also cover some basic image editing techniques, as well as sizing and compression principles to ensure your images look great and load quickly.

One of the hottest trends is neckline embroidery – for curved necklines and V-necks.  From names to cute sayings to inspirational quotes- this embellishment has a vintage look but is easily created with your embroidery machine. Lisa will show you how to choose the right font, create the layout in software, hoop your garment correctly and stitch your design layout EXACTLY where you want it – no guessing.

Using your embroidery machine – Learn multiple techniques using a variety of methods to produce patches. This class will teach you how to make a patch using just your machine and/or software. Learn about different materials and application methods.

Do you want to save time using an electronic cutter to cut your fabric for applique using an electronic cutter? In this class Stephanie will walk you through how to save time and fabric using your electronic cutter. She will also teach you how to use heat transfer vinyl as your “fabric” for applique. This will be a fun class that will teach you some awesome new applique techniques.

To quickly do what you need to do with your computer so you can get stitching now!  This class will show you how the Embrilliance programs work together to help you get the most from your software.

Leashes, Socks, Mittens, Collar Corners, Pockets, and More – They are all hard to hoop but they can all be done easily without specialized tools.  Who wants to spend $700 to hoop a pair of socks, or another $500 to hold a dog leash or name tape?  You don’t have to do that – let me show you how. In this class, we will hoop actual projects using just the hoop that came with your machine and a couple of easy to find and use stabilizers.

In this class, Sheila Ryan with Designs by Babymoon will guide you step by step through the process you need to create freestanding lace earrings.  Each participant will receive an exclusive pattern pack with Freestanding Lace Earring Designs as well as samples of stabilizers that are preferred for the technique.  We will cover various types of freestanding lace earring designs from large to small and learn lots of tips and tricks to get the best quality stitchout! In this class you will be learning how to make an IN THE HOOP bag tag.  In the first part of the class, Melissa will teach all the techniques needed for this project.  Then, you will move into the Hands on portion.  The price of the class includes the material as well as the digitized design used to create the bag tag. We will provide 4 machines at the front of the room, that you will be able to take turns to create your tag.  You are also welcome to bring YOUR machine.  We will have tables with power so you will be able to plug in and go.  For those of you who would like to attend the class but not participate in the hands on portion, you can take the material home and create it there.

Applique designs are perfect for decorating wearables and quilts. Change the fabric and thread, and you have a “brand-new” design. But they can be so much more. All my free-standing and 3D designs began with a regular applique design. We’ll discuss edits that might be needed and materials that can be used to turn your static applique designs into works of art that can literally stand on their own. We all love to make MONEY! In this class you will learn some quick projects that you can crank out and use to increase your profit margin!

SVG files are a versatile vector-based art format that are used by embroidery digitizers and graphic designers. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own original vector-based art (in SVG format) as well as edit existing files. We’ll be locating and installing new fonts, covering common editing techniques, and experimenting with brushes, lines, and shapes to produce different looks.  Don’t think you have the right software? Have no fear – we will be using freely available programs.

What is a serger, how is it used, and what can you do with it?  All of these questions will be answered in this class.  This will be a very fun and informative class about all things sergers!

Don’t let the tech side of embroidery scare you! In this workshop, I’ll teach you how to locate, extract and transfer files on both a MAC and a PC. We’ll also discuss common file formats and how they are used.  Finally, I’ll share tips and tricks for file organization, backup and making your workflow smoother.

Having the correct hardware can make or break a project.  In this class we will discuss different types of hardware, when to use it, and tips for installation.  Learn to use the correct hardware every time!

Learn how to design and print custom apparel.  All you need is a heat press.  We will explore several different transfer offerings, show how they can be made, and offer application tips!

How to digitize lettering – In this class we will delve into the tools and process followed to create designs that happen to look like letters – focusing on those created with the satin turning angle column style of embroidery.  Satin stitches are the strongest stitches that can cause the most movement when stitched – in embroidery “bad words” think puckering, pulling, clumping and muddy looking stitches. So, we will discuss the planning as well as the digitizing tools and their implementation in order to get the results we are looking for.

Join us for a night of fun on Friday, September 10th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. We will be having a vendor panel, where all in attendance can ask questions to their favorite vendors. This will be a “debate” style. Each vendor will be introduced, and then we will take turns asking each vendor a question from the audience. We will have sweet treats and kick off the fun with a crazy hat contest. You must register in advance to enter the contest and the winner will receive $200.00 in cash. The contest will be judged by the attendees in attendance. We will have a meet and greet following the vendor panel. This will be a great night of fun and networking among like minded people.

We will have early bird shopping available to the first 300 attendees that register for the early bird registration. Early bird registration will be on Friday, September 11th, 2021 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. The class is all about the initial foundation of theory John learned from his Schiffli mentor more than 33 years ago, and will contain the most important information you’ll ever learn about digitizing. If you’ve ever been to a hands-on software class before you might be skeptical, since often the person who knows the least get the most attention during class, while others are left waiting. Not this time! Two weeks prior to class attendees will download a demo version of the software and some basic tutorials about the tools needed for class. Because everyone will come prepared, laptop loaded with the demo software and knowing where the tools are, you’ll be ready for accelerated learning! Note: This software is developed for a Windows operating system. There are customers that run this software on their MAC computers when using Parallels.
