It’s so different from satin and requires different techniques to get the best look. This class will show you all the dos and don’ts for bean stitch applique. Using those BIG hoops for BIG projects is a fun class showing best practices to use embroidery machines’ BIG hoops to create dramatic Applique and Embroidery projects. Participants will get hands on experience working with a variety of big hoops, including practicing hooping and they will learn professional stabilizing and hooping techniques for different materials and objects. In this class you will be learning how to make an IN THE HOOP bag tag. In the first part of the class, Melissa will teach all the techniques needed for this project. Then, you will move into the Hands on portion. The price of the class includes the material as well as the digitized design used to create the bag tag. We will provide 4 machines at the front of the room, that you will be able to take turns to create your tag. You are also welcome to bring YOUR machine. We will have tables with power so you will be able to plug in and go. SVG files are a versatile vector-based art format that are used by embroidery digitizers and graphic designers. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own original vector-based art (in SVG format) as well as edit existing files. How to digitize lettering – In this class we will delve into the tools and process followed to create designs that happen to look like letters – focusing on those created with the satin turning angle column style of embroidery. Satin stitches are the strongest stitches that can cause the most movement when stitched – in embroidery “bad words” think puckering, pulling, clumping and muddy looking stitches. So, we will discuss the planning as well as the digitizing tools and their implementation in order to get the results we are looking for.

Join us for a night of fun on Friday, September 10th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. We will be having a vendor panel, where all in attendance can ask questions to their favorite vendors. This will be a “debate” style. Each vendor will be introduced, and then we will take turns asking each vendor a question from the audience. We will have sweet treats and kick off the fun with a crazy hat contest. You must register in advance to enter the contest and the winner will receive $200.00 in cash. The contest will be judged by the attendees in attendance. We will have a meet and greet following the vendor panel. This will be a great night of fun and networking among like minded people.
We will have early bird shopping available to the first 300 attendees that register for the early bird registration. Early bird registration will be on Friday, September 11th, 2021 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Not only will you be able to shop early with no large crowds or lines, but most vendors will also have a early bird shopping only booth specials.

Trade-show floor will be open from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm on Friday, March 13th and 9:30-3:00 pm on Saturday, March 14th. **Trade-show floor opens at 9:30 am on Friday, March 13th for Early Bird Shopping ticket holders only. We will have a closing ceremony with grand prize drawings beginning at 3:00 on Saturday. Check-in and on-site registration will be available on Thursday from 4:00pm-6:00pm, Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm, & Saturday from 8:00am-noon. Embrilliance Essentials can open up a whole new work in your machine embroidery adventures! It allows you to be even more creative and design new and personalized embroidery projects. In this hands on class, we will use Embrilliance Essentials to merge designs, change and remove elements from existing designs, add lettering and more. The tools in Essentials allow you to easily change up the designs in your stash. They will quickly become one of a kind personalized expressions that you will enjoy stitching.
NOTE: Designs and PDF notes are provided at the beginning of class. Please arrive promptly (or up to 15 min early) so that we can make sure that you get the files transferred from USB to your desktop.
Skill: Any, but this class is paced for someone who is familiar with how embroidery designs stitch at
the machine. If you are new to machine embroidery and still learning your machine, you may feel more
comfortable taking this class without a laptop or looking on with a friend. Those that are also taking the first
class hands on or have been using the Embrilliance Essentials and want to learn more will be comfortable
taking this class.

the patented Knockdown stitching in Enthusiast, there are many more functions to this program that you
don’t want to miss out on! In this class we will play with stitch editing to break apart our designs into
elements that we can then use to create new designs. From frames for labels and wreaths for monograms,
we will play with the automated functions and see how these streamlined features can take our design
customizing to the next level.

Yes, you read the title correctly! This is a hands-on digitizing workshop geared not only to those who are considering digitizing, but also to those who have been digitizing for years. The class is all about the initial foundation of theory John learned from his Schiffli mentor more than 33 years ago, and will contain the most important information you’ll ever learn about digitizing. If you’ve ever been to a hands-on software class before you might be skeptical, since often the person who knows the least get the most attention during class, while others are left waiting. Not this time! Two weeks prior to class attendees will download a demo version of the software and some basic tutorials about the tools needed for class. Because everyone will come prepared, laptop loaded with the demo software and knowing where the tools are, you’ll be ready for accelerated learning! Note: This software is developed for a Windows operating system. There are customers that run this software on their MAC computers when using Parallels. Please contact Apple for more details about the Parallels program.
