What Everything Embroidery Retreat is about

The Everything Embroidery Retreat is a three day educational event for the embroidery, heat transfer vinyl, and applique industry. The retreat will be a full learning event with shopping opportunities. Come to this event no matter where you are from beginner, to seasonal, to professional. Every sewist will be inspired to greatness beyond words. The large selections of inspiring tools and supplies will take you to new levels you haven’t ever imagined. The three days will be packed with educational courses and scheduled times to shop for supplies, equipment, fabric and more. We will have equipment available for demo’s and for your hands on use between sessions.

One lucky person will win a Babylock Alliance embroidery machine at closing ceremonies on Saturday!
Get Away

Enjoy a weekend with some girlfriends and meet some new friends. You can even take an evening walk on the beach at either Destin or Fort Walton- both are a short 45 minute drive South of Crestview.

Deborah Jones:

Deborah Jones is a lifelong 2nd generation embroiderer who wasted no time getting involved with home embroidery machines when they became available in the 1990s. She even took one on her honeymoon! So it’s no surprise that she is passionate about sharing her knowledge about producing high-quality embroidery. With three books and five Craftsy classes, this internationally recognized expert makes it fun to learn about how to produce your best embroidery ever. In her unique class, Deborah guides you through puzzling challenges such as small lettering, hard-to-hoop items and more. This class will leave embroiderers of many skill levels feeling confident.

Mike received his Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from Florida State University and has worked as a professional costume designer, draper, pattern maker, milliner, and stitcher for various opera and theatre venues up and down the Eastern Coast.  Although still active in theatre, Mike has turned his focus on machine embroidery and digitizing and is the owner of Mama’s Boy Design, LLC, a custom embroidery, digitizing and machine education and instruction business.  Recently Mike began working with Durkee Hoops ( to create a series of educational videos.

Loris Hernandez

Lori has had a passion for sewing for many years. She began the creative journey in her teens. Lori began smocking and heirlooms sewing for her daughter more than 18 years ago. This began a journey that will never end. Lori opened her own shop where she specialized in custom sewing and designing children’s clothing, bridesmaid dresses, and altering. She enjoys expressing herself artistically in embroidery, quilting, and altered art. Her medium of choice is fabric but also enjoys designing with paper and many other collectible items that she just cannot seem to make herself throw away. Creativity is a major part of Lori’s life. It is an avenue that brings her joy, a sense of accomplishment, and purpose. She enjoys the opportunity to teach and share with others the great joy that comes from sewing, creating, learning, and discovering something new.

Cathy Brown

Cathy Brown is a Baby Lock Certified Ambassador of Education and has been teaching quilting, sewing and serging since 1994.  She ran a successful long arm quilting business and quilt shop before traveling nationwide presenting seminars starting in 2009.  Her specialty is teaching fun-filled and informative seminars in long arm and computerized long arm quilting.  She has appeared on Sewing with Nancy teaching free motion quilting. She is in high demand as an independent instructor and introduced both the Baby Lock Tiara and Coronet to Retailers at the Baby Lock National Convention.  She has written and taught Sew at Home Classes for both consumers and training classes for Retailers. Her classes are part of the mandatory curriculum for Certification as Quilting Machine Expert Level for Baby Lock.

Her entrepreneurial skills urged her to exploit the possibilities offered by the technological revolution on the globe. She is adept at troubleshooting computer issues which of course forms the backbone of the modern day digital technology. Numerous training courses among which are graphic design and website building, led to the acquisition of skills that are indispensable for the embroidery industry.
In 2005 Zandra engaged into the home embroidery industry with her sister Mila, a qualified fashion designer and digitizer. Father Johan is responsible for all technical aspects, photography, instruction manuals, video making etc. and mother Almarine on quality control.
